Causes

  • Skin sensitivity to the season changes.
  • Use of excessive hair conditioners, hair curlers, perms, and hair bonding.
  • Excessive intake of cold, dry, spicy, oily and penetrating food.
  • Hyperactivity of the sebaceous glands.
  • Allergens such as dust, sunlight, soaps, shampoos, cobwebs, certain fabrics and certain foods.
  • Too much stress and anxiety.

Ayurvedic Treatment

  • In a cup of water soak the Fenugreek seeds for over a night. Make a paste of it and apply to the scalp for 30-35 minutes and wash with mild shampoo. Fenugreek is effective and prevents dandruff, hair fall, and baldness.
  • Wash your hair with neem water. For this boil, a few neem leaves in water. Cool it and then strain out the leaves. This will completely eliminate dandruff.
  • Apply the mixture of 10 drops of lemon juice and 1 egg white. Beat the mixture well and apply on the scalp for 20 minutes. Then wash it with a shampoo or water. Do it once a week.
  • On dandruff affected area, you can apply the pulp of aloe vera plant. It is very effective.
  • Twice a week wash your hair with 2tsp of green gram powder mixed with half cup of curd.
  • To prevent dandruff, rub the juice of snake guard over your scalp.
  • Mix Basil leaves (tulsi), amla powder and water. Apply the paste to your scalp and let it remain for 30-60 minutes. Wash the hair with water.
  • Apply the paste of Triphala churna over your scalp. It gives good results.
  • In your shampoo or hair oil add a few drops of tea tree oil. Use this weekly to treat dandruff.
  • Heat 4tsp of coconut oil. Add powdered camphor to it. Let it cool. Apply on the scalp and let it remain for a half hour and then wash it.

Diet and Lifestyle

  • Wash hair with a mild shampoo 2-3 times a week.
  • Do yoga for minimizing stress level.
  • Eat more fiber-rich food, fruits, salads, and lentils.
  • Massage your hair and head with oil every time before washing.
  • Avoid spicy, oily, penetrating, junk food and aerated drinks.
  • Do not scratch the scalp with hands or other objects.
