  • Ayurvedic therapies such as purgation therapy (Virechana Karma) and enema therapy (Vashti Karma) are helpful for treating acute constipation. These Ayurvedic treatments must be taken only in the presence of an Ayurvedic expert.


Diet and Lifestyle

  • Increase the intake of fruits, cooked vegetables, fiber, apple and ripe banana.
  • Eat whole grains, nuts, warmly prepared food, and avoid stale food.
  • Drink 7-8 glass of lukewarm water, take daily walks for 20-30 minutes, mid-morning soup with spinach and tomato, and avoid meat as it causes constipation.
  • Do not remove bran from the flour as it clears the intestine, and avoid refined foods like white flour, pasta, bread, pizza and white rice, ice cream, chilled drinks etc.
  • Disturbing psychological factors should be avoided while having a meal.
